Franchise Description

Profile ImageThe concept was created by our President, Dave Uzelman, in the spring of 1998. He envisioned a niche in the market that no other dollar store chain seemed to be filling.

The concept was then born of a high end dollar store consisting of stores with bright colors, wide aisles, well stocked and merchandised stores that were affordable for those looking for a great opportunity in the retail industry.

From that day forward the chain has grown to over 140+ stores across Canada. Dave’s retail experience stems all the way back to childhood when he worked in his dad’s own dollar store in Saskatchewan called, ‘The Lucky Dollar Store.’

We assist you right from the start with training and ongoing support.

Support ImageThe work of the franchisor starts long before the store is even open. All leases are negotiated by head office as well as site selection if one has not already been chosen.

Orders are completed through head office, ensuring a mixture of trendy merchandise and staple items are all in stock. Two of our highly trained professionals teach, guide and support you with your launch.

Once your store is open, our franchisee trainer will spend a week in your store teaching you all the fundamentals of operating a successful dollar store. From there, if problems or questions arise, franchisees are encouraged to phone head office and talk to the highly trained team members whose retail experience totals more then 100 years.

Adding to all this, we also offer our franchisees the opportunity to attend two trade shows a year in our Kelowna, BC head office. At these shows our franchisees are exposed to the latest trends from a large majority of our suppliers.

In addition to internal store support, we also offer marketing support through our National Advertising Fund. We are the only dollar store to produce flyers and distribute them directly back into your marketplace.
